England's Joe Root moved into third place on the list of leading run-scorers in Test cricket at Old Trafford on Friday (July 25).
The fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy kicked off on July 23 in Manchester, with the hosts looking to take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. India managed 358 in the first innings after being put in to bat, thanks to fifties from Yashasvi Jaiswal (58), Sai Sudharsan (61) and Rishabh Pant (54) who braved a fractured foot to bat on day two.
In reply, England openers Zak Crawley (84) and Ben Duckett (94) put on a 166-run opening stand, before both were dismissed in the evening session on day two to bring Joe Root to the crease.

Starting his innings with a career tally of 13,259 Test runs, Root went past two all-time greats in Jacques Kallis and Rahul Dravid in the batting charts when he reached 31 on the morning of day three (July 25), taking his career aggregate to 13,290 runs.
Root is now just 90 runs away from overtaking Ricky Ponting in second place, which is a very realistic possibility by the end of the ongoing series, or even today itself.
