England ODI openers Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont achieved a first today (June 4) in Leicester, as the only pair to have both scored hundreds in the same back-to-back ODIs.
Jones and Beaumont both scored hundreds last week in England's opening ODI of the summer against West Indies. While Beaumont scored her 11th ODI hundred in that match, Jones registered her maiden international century, having made her England debut over 12 years ago. The innings came after Jones was moved back up the order by new head coach Charlotte Edwards, resuming her opening partnership with Beaumont for the first time since 2019.
Five days later in the second ODI in Leicestershire, both batters tonned up again. Scoring more freely than she had done in Derby, Jones recorded England's joint third-fastest century in the format, tied with Nat Sciver-Brunt's 76-ball effort against Pakistan in 2017. She became the 11th woman to score back-to-back centuries in the ODI format, joining Sciver-Brunt and Beaumont on the list for England players.
Before the ongoing ODI series against the West Indies, Amy Jones had played 97 ODIs with a high score of 94.

Beaumont's 106 – which she reached after Jones was dismissed in Leicester – marked the third time she's scored hundreds in back-to-back ODIs. She did so previously with innings of 104 and 168* against Pakistan in 2016, and with innings of 101 and 105 against South Africa in 2018. She is the only player to appear on the list more than once, with Amy Satterthwaite the only player to have scored hundreds in more than two games back-to-back.
The two partnerships Jones and Beaumont put together in in Derby and Leicester occupy positions four and five on the list of highest opening stands for England in ODIs, the one in the first match the higher of the two (222 and 202 respectively). They are some way behind the highest opening partnership on the list, which was between Caroline Atkins and Sarah Taylor against South Africa at Lords in 2008.
