Following a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the IPL is set to resume, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru playing Kolkata Knight Riders. RCB are currently ranked second in the league table with 16 points, with KKR at No.6, having won five of their 12 games thus far, along with a No Result.

The resumption could, however, be affected by rain, with the city receiving heavy rainfall in the last few days. Bengaluru has also been on yellow alert for thunderstorms due to the pre-monsoon season, which is now in full swing with widespread rain.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, two upper-air cyclonic circulations are influencing the weather in Bengaluru, which are expected to trigger more rain over the weekend.

On Friday, there is expected to be heavy rainfall around 8 pm local time, with steady rain throughout the night.

Weather update for Saturday in Bengaluru ahead of RCB vs KKR

Saturday morning will see steady drizzle from 11 am to 2 pm local time, with rain picking up speed around 5 pm. Around match time, which is 7.30 pm IST, there is a prediction of 75% rain, according to Google Weather, with showers expected to go on till 11 pm.

According to Accuweather, there is a 70% chance of rain on Saturday, with wind speeds of 13kph. There is a 42% probability of thundershowers, with around 1.5 hours of rain predicted.

BBC Weather has predicted around 50% to 70% of rain during match hours on Saturday, with thundery showers and a gentle breeze.
