Ranji Trophy 2025-26, round 2: What happened on day one?
The headline news was an astonishing match between Assam and Services in Tinsukia, where 25 wickets fell on day one. Services duo Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra made first-class history with hat-tricks in the same innings, as Riyan Parag took five for Assam. Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad both scored centuries, even as Sarfaraz Khan was out early.

The match lasted exactly 540 balls. Chasing 71 in the fourth innings, Services easily overhauled the target in 13.5 overs with eight wickets in hand.
