Nineteen matches of the second round of the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy started on October 25. Here is a roundup of the second round so far.

Elite Group A

Kavuri Saiteja (4-28) reduced Baroda from 72-3 to 76-6 before Vishnu Solanki (99 not out) and Atit Sheth (65 not out) took them to 230-6 at stumps against Andhra. Govinda Poddar top-scored with 64 as Uttar Pradesh, led by Shivam Sharma (3-65), bowled Odisha out for 243 and reached 17-0. Vimal Khumar (189) and Pradosh Ranjan Paul (156 not out) added 307 – 11 short of Tamil Nadu’s record – for the third wicket to take their team to 399-2 against Nagaland. Shikhar Mohan (60 not out) and Sharandeep Singh (46 not out) took Jharkhand to 119-0 on a rain-affected day against Vidarbha.

Elite Group B

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 116 took Maharashtra to 313 against Chandigarh. Karun Nair remained unbeaten on 86 as Karnataka reached 222-5 against Goa. Saurashtra defied Kumar Kartikeya (4-84) to put up 258-8 against Madhya Pradesh: Ravindra Jadeja made 36. And Harnoor Singh batted through the day with 126 not out as Punjab scored 240-6 against Kerala.

  • Maharashtra 313 (Arshin Kulkarni 50, Ruturaj Gaikwad 116, Saurabh Nawale 66; Jagjit Singh 3-79, Abhishek Saini 3-55) v Chandigarh.
  • Karnataka 222 (Karun Nair 86*; Arjun Tendulkar 3-47) v Goa.
  • Saurashtra 258-8 (Chirag Jani 82; Kumar Kartikeya 4-84) v Madhya Pradesh.

Elite Group C

Three Bengal batters scored fifties to take them to 244-7 against Gujarat. Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra of Services both completed hat-tricks in the same innings against Assam – a historic first in the history of first-class cricket – in a topsy-turvy day’s cricket where 25 wickets fell. After being bowled out for 126, Tripura had Haryana at 155-8. Railways rode on Mohammad Saif’s 99 not out to end the day on 233-4 against Uttarakhand.

  • Bengal 244-7 (Sudip Gharami 56, Abishek Porel 51, Sumanta Gupta 58*; Siddharth Desai 3-55) v Gujarat.
  • Assam 103 (Pradyun Saikia 52; Mohit Jangra 3-5, Arjun Sharma 5-46) and 56-5 lead Services 108 (Irfan Khan 51; Riyan Parag 5-25, Rahul Singh 4-44) by 51 runs.
  • Tripura (Nikhil Kashyap 4-34, Parth Vats 3-14) trail Haryana (Swapnil Singh 5-66) by 29 runs
  • Railways 233-4 (Mohammad Saif 99*) v Uttarakhand.

Elite Group D

Captain Rahul Singh (114 not out) helped Hyderabad amass 255-1 against Puducherry. Ajinkya Rahane (118 retired hurt) and Siddhesh Lad (80) lifted Mumbai from 38-3 to 251-5 against as Chhattisgarh even as Sarfaraz Khan fell for a solitary run. Jammu & Kashmir reached 66-2 after Auqib Nabi (3-29) and Sunil Kumar (4-32) bowled out Rajasthan for 152. Four Delhi batters scored fifties in their 306-4 against Himachal Pradesh.

  • Hyderabad 255-1 (Rahul Singh 114*, Kodimela Himateja 62*) v Puducherry.
  • Mumbai 255-4 (Ajinkya Rahane 118rh, Siddhesh Lad 80) v Chhattisgarh.
  • Rajasthan 152 (Aquib Nabi 3-29, Sunil Kumar 4-32) lead Jammu & Kashmir 66-2 by 86 runs.
  • Delhi 306-4 (Arpit Rana 64, Sanat Sangwan 79, Yash Dhull 61, Ayush Doseja 51*) v Himachal Pradesh.

Plate Group

A 196-run stand between Gurinder Singh (129) and Kranthi Kumar (87 not out) took Sikkim to 310-6 after they were 46-4 and then 112-5 against Meghalaya. Kangabam Priyojit’s 134 not out helped Manipur post 300-5 against Bihar. After bowling out Arunachal Pradesh for 187, Mizoram rode on Armaan Jaffer’s 77-ball unbeaten 80 to put up 106-1.

  • Sikkim 310-6 (Amit Rajera 51, Gurinder Singh 129, Kranthi Kumar 87*; Akash Choudhary 4-69) v Meghalaya.
  • Manipur 300-5 (Kangabam Priyojit 134 not out) v Bihar.
  • Arunachal Pradesh 187 (Lalrempuia 3-47) lead Mizoram 106-1 (Armaan Jaffer 80*) by 81 runs.
