The second round of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy came to an end on Tuesday (October 28). Here's what the standings look like.

Who are the top performers in Ranji Trophy 2025-26 second round?

A total of 19 matches were played in round two of the 91st edition of the Ranji Trophy. The match between Assam and Services concluded on just the second day, with the four innings spanning a mere 90 overs. Services emerged victorious with two of their bowlers – Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra – picking up a hat-trick in the same innings, achieving a unique feat in first-class cricket.

The round featured several notable performances from renowned faces. Ajinkya Rahane starred with 159 off 303 balls in a draw against Chhattisgarh. On the third day, Prithvi Shaw, playing for his new team Maharashtra, smashed a double ton off 141 balls, the third-fastest in the tournament’s history. Dropped from the India Test squad, Karun Nair also made a statement with an unbeaten 174 in Karnataka’s draw against Goa.

On day four, it was Mohammed Shami who dominated the headlines with his first first-class five-wicket haul in four years, inspiring Bengal to a victory over Gujarat.

Among the lesser-known names, Jammu and Kashmir’s Auqib Nabi took a match haul of 10 wickets (3-29 and 7-24) against Rajasthan and also contributed with a 55 with the bat.

Ranji Trophy 2025-26 points table after round two

Services are the only team to win both games, and they currently top the Elite Group C table. The other Elite Group leaders – Vidarbha (A), Maharashtra (B), and Mumbai (D) – have won one and drawn one each. Meanwhile, Plate Group toppers Mizoram have won one match, after their opening fixture against Meghalaya in Shillong was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
