Pat Cummins takes part in a training session at Cricket Central on October 22, 2025 in Sydney, Australia

Ashes 2025 will begin from November 21: here are the latest injury updates, including the current status of injury and replacement updates.

The 2025 Ashes begins on November 21 at Perth. The Test series is scheduled to conclude on January 8 with the final Test scheduled at Sydney.

England's last Test series victory in Australia was back in 2010/11, a 3-1 triumph under Andrew Strauss. Since then in Australia, they have lost 0-5 in 2013/14, 0-4 in 2017/18, and 0-4 in 2021/22.

Both teams have been dealing with injuries ahead of this year's opener. Australia will be without captain Pat Cummins for the first Test; he is managing an injury and hasn't played competitively since July. The pace attack has been further hampered by hamstring injuries to Sean Abbott and Josh Hazlewood. In response to this injury crisis, Australia have called up Michael Neser, the most recent of whose two Test appearance was in 2022.

England also received a scare when injury-prone quick Mark Wood walked off the field during a warm-up match recently after bowling just eight overs. He subsequently underwent scans, and fortunately for England, they revealed no serious damage, and he has been cleared to bowl. Wood hasn’t played for England since suffering a knee injury in February.
