Pakistan have been docked eight World Test Championship points after the Mirpur Test. Here’s what the WTC table looks like after the ruling.

Pakistan suffered a double blow with their defeat in the first Test against Bangladesh, as they were docked eight WTC points for maintaining a slow over rate in the match. The visitors felt a massive eight overs short of the required overs, after allowances were considered, and thus fined 40 per cent of their match fees and penalised eight points by match referee Jeff Crowe.

As per ICC’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, all 11 players of the team are docked five per cent of their match fees per over short of the minimum over rate. Since Pakistan were short by eight, they have been fined 40 per cent of their match fees. Moreover, a side is also penalised a point for every over short of the minimum rate, thus explaining the eight-point penalty.
