Maaz Sadaqat and Imam-ul-Haq hit respective centuries for Oil and Gas in their President’s Cup game against WAPDA on Sunday (December 14).

Maaz Sadaqat smashes 57-ball hundred; Imam-ul-Haq scores ton as well

Maaz followed up his 50 against Khan Research Laboratories in his side’s last President’s Cup game with a quickfire ton against WAPDA today. He scored 110 off 65 deliveries in a knock that featured seven fours and 10 maximums.

Imam, opening alongside the former Pakistan under-19 batter, scored the more subdued of the two hundreds, with his 108 runs taking 111 deliveries. But he held one end until the 40th over and was Oil and Gas’s sixth wicket to fall.

Maaz, who was the first batter to be dismissed, scored 110 of the duo’s 159-run opening stand. This was his second-highest List-A score, and also his second ton in the format, after a 114 for Khan RL against State Bank of Pakistan in the 2024 President’s Cup.

Riding on the openers' centuries, Oil and Gas posted 380-8, looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the ongoing edition of the President’s Cup. They have so far won all three of their games and sit second on the points table with seven points in three games.

Imam, meanwhile, has had a steady tournament so far, with scores of 28, 63, and 25 in the lead-up to the hundred against WAPDA. He had finished the Qauid-e-Azam season for Multan with a 181 in his last game before the President's Cup. He was also dismissed seven runs short of a ton in the Lahore Test against South Africa in October.

The opener’s recall to the Test side had come on the back of an incredible One-Day Cup showing for Yorkshire, where he slammed 688 runs at 98.28 and a strike rate of 98, including four tons, in just eight innings. He had followed that up with a triple hundred in the Hanif Mohammad Trophy back home.
