Ubaid Shah, younger brother of Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah, has been selected to play for Pakistan Shaheens in their multi-format tour of England later this month.
The squad features a mix of young and internationally experienced players, and will be led by Test batter Saud Shakeel. Also in the 18-member group are Test capped players Mir Hamza, Musa Khan and Sajid Khan.
Nineteen-year-old Ubaid has also been included as part of the pace attack, one of the trio of fast-bowling brothers. The teenager shone in last year's U19 World Cup, where he took 18 wickets at an average of 12.38, securing Pakistan a semi-final place after a devastating display in the quarters against Bangladesh, in which he took a five-for. Ubaid was also impressive in the last season of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, taking 25 wickets at 26.60 and finishing in the top 10 wicket-takers in the tournament.

Other achievers in Pakistan domestic cricket have also been rewarded with places in the Shaheens squad. Azan Awais and Maaz Sadaqat were the top-two run getters in the 2024-25 edition, and have both been included in the squad. Mehran Mumtaz will join Sajid in the spin attack, as well as spin-bowling all-rounder Faisal Akram, who has played for Pakistan U19s and played one game for Multan Sultans in the PSL earlier this year.
The squad will train at the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre in Karachi ahead of the tour, which will begin on July 17. The series in England will consist of two three-day games and three 50-over matches, which will conclude on August 6.
