In this quiz, you need to name the left-handed batters who have scored the most Test runs in the history of the sport.
The elegance of left-handed batters is a treat to behold. When combined with the pristine nature of Test cricket, it can be poetry in motion. In Test history, 34 left-handed batters have scored 5,000 or more runs. Among them, only four have crossed 10,000 runs. Each of these four led their nation in the format at least once, with three serving as full-time captains.
A former England captain who is also their highest run-scorer in the format – leads the list. He is followed by another ex-captain, this time from Sri Lanka, who boasts the highest average (57.40) among all 15 batters to have crossed the 10,000-run mark in Tests.

The current top ten is unlikely to change anytime soon. The closest any batter came to challenging the status quo was an Australian player, who retired from Test cricket (and later international cricket) after his final series against Pakistan last year. With 8,786 runs, he finished seventh on the list. Notably, the only active left-handed batter on the list is a current Australian opener, ranked 25th.
You have six minutes to name all the left-handed batters who have scored at least 5000 Test runs. To work with, the names, the teams they have represented and the numbers of runs they have scored have been given as hints.
