Bangladesh seamer Tanzim Hasan Sakib scored a defiant half-century from No.9 to record a Full Member first during his team’s 57-run defeat in the second T20I against Pakistan in Lahore.
Trailing the series 0-1, Bangladesh slipped to 77-7 while chasing 201-6 in the second match of the T20I series. After openers Tanzim Sakib (33) and Parvez Hossain Emon (8) scored 44 in 3.4 overs, Bangladesh suffered a dramatic collapse, sparked by Abrar Ahmed, who picked up a career-best 3-19.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib hits maiden T20I fifty, records Full Member first
Pakistan were looking to wrap things up quickly, but Tanzim offered some defiant resistance from No.9. Twice, he hit two sixes in a row: the first instance was against Haris Rauf in the 13th over when he cracked two delightful strokes off short balls. The next came against Khushdil Shah at the start of the 18th over when he managed two meaty blows over long-on. Overall, he had hit five sixes and a four to finish with a 31-ball 50. Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 144, losing the match and the series.

Tanzim became the first Full Member player to score a T20I fifty from No.9 or below. In fact, he is only the third batter overall to achieve the feat, following Austria's Hamid Safi (against Slovenia earlier this year) and Sierra Leone's Lansana Lamin (against Eswatini last year).
The previous highest score by a Full Member batter at No. 9 belonged to Pakistan's Anwar Ali, whose 17-ball 46 sealed a thrilling one-wicket win over Sri Lanka in 2015.
