2025 Andhra Premier League kicks off on August 8

The fourth edition of the Andhra Premier League, a T20-based competition for players belonging to the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, will be held from August 8 to 24. It features seven teams: Royals of Rayalaseema, Tungabhadra Warriors, Vijayawada Sun Shiners, Kakinada Kings, Bhimavaram Bulls, Amaravati Royals, and Simhadri Vizag Lions, and will feature a total of 25 matches.

Each side will play six league games, which will be followed by four playoff matches, from August 21. All games will be played at the ACA-VDCA International Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

The tournament will begin with Kakinada Kings taking on Amaravati Royals, with the match scheduled to start at 7.30 pm local time. However, all other evening games will begin at 6.30 pm local time, while the day matches will start at 1.30 pm local time.

Vizag Warriors are the defending champions, having beaten Uttarandhra Lions in the finals by 87 runs.

Several notable cricketers such as Hanuma Vihari, Shaik Rasheed and KS Bharat will be participating in the edition. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was set to play the league as well, but is likely to miss the tournament after sustaining a knee injury during India’s tour of England.
