Sri Lanka defeated South Africa in the third match of the women's ODI tri-series in Colombo on Friday (May 2) - here is the updated points table for the tri-series involving India, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Bowling first, the hosts reduced South Africa to 120-5 before Annerie Dercksen’s unbeaten 61 off 60 balls anchored a recovery, guiding them to 235-9. For Sri Lanka, Malki Madara (4-50) starred with the ball, supported by Dewmi Vihanga (3-41), while Sugandika Kumari (1-49) and Inoka Ranaweera (1-33 off six overs) chipped in.

In reply, Sri Lanka suffered an early setback when captain Chamari Athapaththu (6) edged Masabata Klaas to the keeper. A 69-run partnership between Hasini Perera and Vishmi Gunaratne steadied the innings, but Nonkululeko Mlaba broke through by pinning Gunaratne lbw for 29, leaving Sri Lanka 78-2. Perera followed soon after, dismissed by Sune Luus for 42, as the hosts slumped to 90-3.

A match-winning 128-run fouth-wicket partnership between Harshita Samarawickrama (77) and Kavisha Dilhari (61) then took the hosts to safety. By the time the stand was broken, they needed just 18 more runs to win. Sri Lanka eventually reached the target in 46.3 overs, finishing with five wickets in hand. It was their fourth-highest successful run-chase in the format.
