Tim David smashed the fastest T20I century by an Australian player in the third T20I against West Indies on Friday (July 25).
In Basseterre, Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh put the hosts in to bat; a decision that appeared ill-advised as Brandon King and Shai Hope put on 125 for the first wicket in 11.3 overs, before King was dismissed for 62.
But Shimron Hetmyer, and then Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell failed to make a significant impact as Hope held the back half of the innings together. He finished unbeaten on 102 off 57, his first T20I century, as West Indies scored 214-4.

Despite losing three wickets, Australia muscled their way to 65 in the Powerplay, David coming to the crease for the final ball of the sixth over. In the eighth over, he hit his first six off Gudakesh Motie, before taking the left-arm spinner down in the 10th, with four sixes in a row in a 28-run over. In the process, David recorded Australia's fastest T20I fifty, off just 16 balls.
The next two overs yielded 20 and 23 runs, primarily thanks to David as Australia broke the back of the chase through the middle. He moved on to 90 off 29 balls, and took another eight deliveries to get to his maiden century in all T20 cricket, as he hit the winning runs off the first ball of the 17th over.
The Australian record was previously held by Josh Inglis, who made a 43-ball ton against Scotland last year. The only players from a Full Member nation to score quicker centuries are David Miller and Rohit Sharma (35 balls each). India's Abhishek Sharma also scored a 37-ball century, earlier this year.
