Biography

Renuka Singh Thakur is an Indian right-arm fast-medium pacer who has emerged as a key figure in India's fast-bowling department following the retirement of veteran Jhulan Goswami, and she will lead India's pace attack in the upcoming Women's Cricket World Cup 2025.

Then, in 2009, she enrolled in HPCA's residential academy in Dharamsala to begin her professional career with the Himachal Pradesh women's squad. She eventually piqued the selectors' interest when she ended as the highest wicket-taker in the 2019-20 Senior Women's One Day League, earning her first call-up to the Indian side for a series against Australia in August 2021. Since then, she has never looked back.

Singh made her India debut in the Twenty20 International against Australia on October 7, 2021, followed by the One-Day International against New Zealand on February 21, 2022. The next year, on December 14, 2023, she made her Test debut with the Indian squad. She has recently been a key bowler for the Indian team and was the leading wicket-taker at the Commonwealth Games in 2022. Renuka Singh's cricket career displays hard work and has motivated young athletes in Himachal Pradesh and all over India.
